Mom came home last summer

Mommy was a teacher in a Chinese school back then, she worked as secretary for then Senator Sergio Osmena before she became an educator, a hardworking and very practical woman who seldom wears make up. She is a fast typist and plays the piano very well. When i was at junior high school, mommy decided to go to the United States to help raise us who were growing up fast. My dad just came back from a two year contract in Saudi Arabia .  Yes both parents were Overseas Filipino Workers.
It was only after twelve years that she came back, she missed our prom, she missed our weddings, she also missed taking care of us when we gave birth to her grandchildren .This time they were already separated with my dad.  Finally she came home and year after year she would find time visiting us. 
Mom came home again last summer, she walks a little bit slower this time, she  is on medication for diabetes at 72.
I was happy she came to finally attend my sons graduation last summer.
Missing her so much, i took her to places she would see on Facebook. She visited Mambukal Resort and took a dip at the pool and had a relaxing massage.
Then we went to Bohol for the Holy Week where she also met her high school classmates...they had their own itinerary.





 Im glad I was able to spend more time with my mom this time. She is back in the land of milk and honey after staying with me for a month, she  moved to a new facility where she still works until now with lesser responsibilities.

The town was known as Manlambus, a Visayan term meaning to strike with a club because its coastal waters were then abundant with fish, catching them could simply be done by using a club or lambus. Bulang Bulang Festival

           The week is a celebration of festivals from the City of Talisay, Don Salvador Benedicto, Candoni, Pulupandan and the town of San Enrique. Luckily, we have good weather wherein people can move around and enjoy the dances from the mountains to the sea. It was high noon when we travelled about 37 kilometers to the south on a well paved and asphalted road network.                It was the celebration of the 113 th Annual Town Fiesta with the theme, ‘Pagpasalamat kag pagsinadya para sa kauswagan sang Banwa’. Manang Pula to Manapla

It always rains in August where flowers are in bloom and fruits are abundant, this is the month where you get to taste the sweetest rambutan, lanzones, santol, native pineapples and the mangosteen. When travelling to the north of Negros Occidental, makeshift stalls made of bamboo and nipa stalks are lined up along the main highway where fruits are on display which makes you stop and shop.   On this Sunday morning, the sun shined brightly, we were wearing our sunglasses as we walked along the streets of Manapla for the 145 th annual town fiesta also known as the Manang Pula Festival. This day was the highlight of the weeklong celebration, Manang Pula is a term used to call a beautiful maiden named Crispula Santillan who married a Capitan named Bernardo Gallo one of the first inhabitants in town, when people   then asked for the towns name they would answer 'Manangpula' and later shortened to MANAPLA.
