Image
Whenever I take the plane to and from Cebu, I always choose a seat by the window, to have a better view of the islands, clouds and the crater of Mount Kanla-on volcano. The most imposing landmark in Negros Island which is about 2,435 meters above sea level and is considered to be   the highest peak in Central Visayas. Each of us has a bucket list of things to do in our life time and on top of my list is to experience a climb to Mount Kanla-on. Considered to be a complex and active volcano, this is surrounded by craters and volcanic peaks. There are four trails and entry points to the summit like Guintubdan Trail at La Carlota which is only 8.5 kilometers away from the summit. Mananawin Trail at Sitio Mananawin , Brgy. Masulog Canlaon City is for the seasoned mountaineer and the adventurous, Mapot Trail at Sitio Mapot, Brgy. Malaiba, Canlaon City is another trail is considered to be a challenging one, with no source of water along the way.   This was an hour and fifty m

Two decades ago, every time we go to Manila, Cebu and Iloilo for meetings and conferences, we always find time to visit this American restaurant franchise serving roasted chicken and ribs, baked macaroni and   its famous   muffins, fresh fruit salad, coleslaw and bacon potato salad, desserts like fruits in crème, choco mousse, crème brulee and many more. Kenny Rogers Roasters is finally roasting in Bacolod, this is the 52 nd branch in the country, the third in the Visayas with its modern facilities and a new ambiance simply showing the new generation of young entrepreneurs who are instrumental in bringing the business in Bacolod. They have a rotisserie that can roast 42 whole chickens at a time for about 90 minutes, the chicken is marinated for 24 hours in herbs and spices and cooked until its golden brown which is its best seller and really taste good. The restaurant can accommodate 175 visitors at a time with comfortable seats with tables for family and friends

Mabinay Spring What better way to end summer with a roadtrip to the other side of the island – Negros Oriental. It was two days after Executive Order 183 was signed by President Benigno Aquino - Creating the Negros Island Region that we decided to take a four and a half hours drive to Dumaguete City via Mabinay. the Boulevard I always look forward to visiting friends and relatives after summer class in the City of Gentle People – Dumaguete.   The city is the capital of Negros Oriental, which can be reached by air with four flights daily to and from Manila and one flight daily to and from Cebu. Fast ferries cater to the riding public to Cebu, Bohol and Siquijor. This is the city where pedicabs are considered a popular means of transportation. Most probably the province with the most number of motorbikes today.     Sisters of St Paul came in 1904 Silliman was established in 1901 When in Dumaguete, here are some tips to popular places that you should not miss.
