Welcome to the sweetest province in the country, where everybody wears a smile here at the City of Smiles –BACOLOD!   Do you know that it only takes 17 muscles to smile and 43 to frown, not only that, when you smile it brings the best in you, your personality, grace and shows a positive outlook in life compared to frowning which maybe interpreted as one carrying the whole world’s problems on his shoulder and frowning can easily make you look very old in seconds. When in Bacolod, you get to experience fun in the Philippines like no other, we have wider roads, and a   choice of transportation to take you around from taxi, jeepney, tricycle and even the tri-sikad or better yet a choice of cars where you can rent for a day or two and a whole line of yellow buses to take you around the island. Booming Bacolod is the capital of Negros Occidental and is very accessible by air, land or sea. This week is indeed the time to celebrate the MassKara Festival with   61 baranga

Karga Tapas             Buglas is an old name of the Island which meant ‘to cut off’, it was believed that long ago, our island was part of a large mass of land which eventually was separated due to continental drift, this is why the festival of festivals of the province of Negros Oriental is known as Buglasan Festival. Tawo Tawo Festival Mascot             It was a six-hour ride on board air-conditioned bus 544 to Dumaguete, the capital of Negros Oriental recently. I always see to it that I am seated in front to be able to see the beauty of our island while travelling with reliable bus driver Alex and his partner John. On a private vehicle, travel time will be shortened to four to five hours.             Climate change is evident as we travel it would suddenly rain in one town and become sunny on the next stop, this is why a shawl would be helpful when travelling which can be worn to cover the shoulder or head. TECNOS Congress and MRA Forum in Dumaguete I packed my bags, and took an air con bus to Dumaguete City, it was fun seated at the front seat and paid the student rate which was exactly the same amount I pay a taxi from the mall to where I live here in Bacolod. The road network is well paved and cemented towards Mabinay and a few meters still repaired  at the Bais area, it was a five hour bus  ride on a sunny day.By  four in the afternoon I was already at Bethel Guest House  just right at the boulevard, where food at CafĂ© Filomena is great, and  an early morning walk under the acacia trees with the view of the sunrise is simply  irresistible this is why I always bring my rubber shoes when in town. The forum and congress was well attended with tou
